Reproductive Leave- It’s For Every Body!

Reproductive Health in the Workplace

Whether it’s managing menstruation or the impacts of menopause, accessing fertility treatments, managing chronic health issues or accessing preventative health care like cancer screenings – whatever your gender, your reproductive health can impact your working life.

The ‘It’s For Every Body’ campaign is pushing to win ten days of paid reproductive leave and flexibility entitlements for workers experiencing a range of reproductive health issues.

It recognises that many of these health issues can take a serious physical and mental toll on workers and can inhibit their ability to work, and that paid reproductive leave would help promote inclusive workplaces that prioritise the safety and health of workers.

In December 2024 to January 2025, Unions NSW surveyed 1,029 workers about their experiences managing their reproductive health at work and how reproductive leave and flexibility would affect them.

The findings show overall that reproductive leave and flexibility is good for our health and can boost workplace participation.

No one should have to work in pain or sacrifice their income to care for their health.

Reproductive leave would allow workers to care for their health without financial stress or fear of discrimination.

Let’s create fairer workplaces for all workers.
